Spring into Spring Series- Fuji 5 Lakes

I so love spring.       The feeling of the days getting longer…         Seedlings piercing the ground….       The milder temperatures…..        The sound of birds calling for a mate……      The sun gently stirring sleeping world.

Spring into spring

I want to get out. To explore. To potter on my patch of earth. To marvel at the beauty around us.

To this end- I’m starting this series. Every Monday for the next 6 weeks, I am going to post my moments as I ‘Spring into Spring’. They will mainly be of explorations of the Japanese Spring, that I will do with my family, but there might be others- who knows where the spring will take us. If you want to join in- please share a link to your blog. Enjoy as we ‘Spring into Spring’

Fuji 5 Lakes Area

The cherry blossoms have been out in full force the week, and I honestly thought as we packed to head out to the Fuji 5 Lakes region for the Easter Weekend that we would have a fantastic show… Well was I surprised!

Spring is only just starting in the 5 Lakes region. In fact, a cold spell hit Japan for the weekend, making it grey and drizzly, with temperatures being 5-6 degrees C at lunchtime causing us to wonder whether we were in Blighty or Japan.IMG_9556

Despite these challenges, I have managed to find some signs of spring.P1010208

I hope that you had a blessed Easter and have seen the growing signs of spring around you.

About Cheryl

I am a child of God, a wife and a mother of 4 children. Some days are good. Some days are frustrating. Some days are just plain insane. In between the mayhem, I loved to go for walks with our mutt, potter in the garden and enjoy the beauty that surrounded us. That all changed in August 2012 when we waved goodbye to our mutt and garden, our eldest at Uni in Gloucester and moved to Tokyo for 4 months. And yes- we are still here...
