Make It From Scratch Challenge-Frozen Yoghurt

Crystal over at Money saving Mom is having a Make It From Scratch Challenge this week and I thought that I would join in.

I have been wanting to improve my cooking techniques and skills as I have become a lazy chef…( meat, carbs and a portion of frozen veg). This seemed like an ideal opportunity to try out something new.
I decided to make this as it was another warm evening and I was also short on time and it is a sure hit with the kiddies! I must confess that I’m not convinced that this would quite count as from scratch as I did use a smoothie as my flavouring…

I put a little pot (about 1/2 cup) of smoothie juice and another little pot of soya milk (J has a dairy intolerance) into the freezer in the morning.

Just before I served the supper, I took the out to soften up a bit.

After supper I put them into the food processor and pulsed it a bit until they had bended together.

I dished it out as pudding for the children.

This works better with yoghurt, though you add it in at the food processor stage. I’ve not tried freezing yoghurt!

Are you joining in the challenge? If so, what have you made?

About Cheryl

I am a child of God, a wife and a mother of 4 children. Some days are good. Some days are frustrating. Some days are just plain insane. In between the mayhem, I loved to go for walks with our mutt, potter in the garden and enjoy the beauty that surrounded us. That all changed in August 2012 when we waved goodbye to our mutt and garden, our eldest at Uni in Gloucester and moved to Tokyo for 4 months. And yes- we are still here...
