Last week, J was floating around needing some inspiration. I needed him- ok wanted him- to find that inspiration so I could get on with some chores.
Then the inspiration hit me!
Play dough!
Not the plastic stuff that you can buy from the ¥100 store, but the pukka squidgy, squishy tactile stuff that I used to make when I only had 3 children to run after.
My awesome recipe is sitting on a ship somewhere between Singapore and Tokyo, but I know it well enough to find it online.
Once made, J had a great time playing with it, but the biggest surprise is how much fun my 8 year old has had with it.
So here is the receipe and I hope your children have as much fun!
Playdough Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups of Flour
2 cups of Water
1 tbs of Cooking Oil
1 tsp Cream of Tartar
1 cup of Salt
Food Colouring (amount dependent on how bright you want your play dough)
Method
Place all the ingredients in a saucepan.
Cook slowly on medium high until the playdough thickens and comes away from the sides.
Keep the playdough in an air tight container. If it is kept in the fridge, it should last longer.
Happy Playing!
