“I will be with you”

Last week was a tough week. Nothing in particular happened.
My children are all healthy, we don’t have money worries, our marriage is good. I have lots to be thankful for.
But it was tough.

My Mojo was gone.
My get up and go, had got up and gone…
I was paddling upstream.

On Friday, I sat down with my cuppa, my Bible and my devotional book,ONE YEAR DAILY GRIND PB (One Year Books) by Sarah Arthur and started to read.

Sarah was writing about exactly how I felt. She was going through it too. It was so reassuring to know that I’m not alone in this feeling.
The Bible verse for the day truly touched home:

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire,
You will not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.” Isaiah 43:2

It is so encouraging to know that God is with us all the time. As Christians, we are not exempt from challenges and trials. In fact the very first line confirms that-
“When you pass through the waters,”

Not if but When.

We will have trials, challenges and just general tough days. But not matter what, God promises that “I will be with you”

What an awesome promise.

About Cheryl

I am a child of God, a wife and a mother of 4 children. Some days are good. Some days are frustrating. Some days are just plain insane. In between the mayhem, I loved to go for walks with our mutt, potter in the garden and enjoy the beauty that surrounded us. That all changed in August 2012 when we waved goodbye to our mutt and garden, our eldest at Uni in Gloucester and moved to Tokyo for 4 months. And yes- we are still here...
