I have given myself the challenge of trying to create more order in my life. There are areas where I manage well and others where I fail dismally and cause me stress. I would love nothing more, than to have routines and habits that enable life to just flow better. I am hoping that by posting everyday the various areas that need I feel improvement, that it will keep me accountable and I will achieve my to do list for once in my life.
Friday: Ready for the weekend.
Yip, it’s Friday. I’m ready for the weekend. My week has been manic!
Today is a busy day as I am selling my cards at school and my children are in a concert at lunchtime.
That said, I am wanting to go exploring on the weekend, so I need to use the couple of hours I have between to get organised for the weekend.
Be it a day trip or a weekend away, getting organised on the Friday with the basics can ensure for a relaxed weekend.
So what are the basics?
Packing the Bags:
Easy enough if it’s a day trip- camera, water bottle, phone, appropriate weather requirements (coats &scarves, rain jackets or suncream- whatever the season would be.)
Organise the transport:
If you’re using public transport, having an idea of the route, times, etc
By car- ensuring that the car has sufficient fuel.
Draw cash:
Japan is a cash society. Day trips would definitely require cash for lunches, entry tickets etc, but we have been caught out on a number of occasions where the accommodation we are staying at only takes cash, and we’ve forgotten to draw before hand.
Food:
Having an idea about what is going to be eaten, whether you’re taking a picnic, or eating out, just needing snacks etc. Having an idea of what food is needed over the weekend, means that there is no stress about meals. (Oh and don’t forget to buy any food you might need…)
Get the house organised:
If you’re like some of my friends- you won’t need this one. Your house is organised. I need this one and hopefully its not just me. There are generally last minute dishes that need washing, laundry needing hanging up, areas that need tidying. All various bits n pieces that make for a relaxing home.
These five things would ensure that the weekend has a relaxing start, whether you go away, do a day trip or just stay at home.
Have a relaxing weekend.
